HOW WILL YOUR DATA BE USED

Candidates:

To match your skills and experience with a potential employer. This may involve us collecting basic information about you such as contact details, the role you are looking for and experience.

We will then pass this on to the Client. If you are chosen by the Client and go through to the next stage, we may then need to collect more information from you. We may also use your Data to send you information that you may find interesting such as suggesting other roles to you.

Clients:

To ensure that we can find the right Candidate for the role or a production that requires a talented person, as part of our contractual arrangements.

Suppliers:

To ensure that we can contact you and for contractual obligations.

If you fail to provide information when requested: which is necessary for us to find you a role or find you a Candidate, we will not be able to place Candidates with Clients successfully or vice versa.

Do we obtain consent before processing: All Data must be processed legally. If we look for consent, we will always ensure that you know what you are consenting to. We may also process Data without consent but only if that is compliant with the GDPR and/or is in line with your reasonable expectations.

The GDPR states we must have a lawful basis for processing all Data. The GDPR sets out the grounds where processing of Data can be undertaken legally. Our lawful basis for processing will be as follows:

  • Legitimate business interest: For prospective candidates, contractors, referees and clients, our processing is necessary for our legitimate interests – we need this information in order to be able to assess suitability for potential roles, to find potential candidates and to contact clients, referees, and suppliers.
  • Before we go ahead with any processing, we will carry out a ‘balancing test’ to ensure that our processing is necessary and that your fundamental privacy rights are not outweighed by our legitimate business interests.
  • If you are interviewed and submitted as a Candidate, then this may involve the processing of more detailed Data including sensitive Data such as health information that you or others provide about you. In that case we always ask for your consent before undertaking such processing of any sensitive Data.
  • Where we need consent for some activities such as contacting candidates about other recruitment-related services we will ask for it. We rely on soft opt-in consent for these activities where you have previously engaged with us by submitting a CV, applying for a job, or registering on our Site. This means we take your consent as given unless or until you opt-out. For other types of e-marketing we require your explicit consent.

HOW YOUR DATA MIGHT BE SHARED

Candidates:

With the Client who has a role to fill, in order to assess suitability and the eventually placing the suitable Candidate into the vacant role.

We may also conduct background checks to verify the information you have provided which means we may need to share your information with a company appointed by us to run background checks.

Clients:

With Candidates during the course of providing services to you and with third parties as part of our contractual relationship.

Suppliers:

As part of our contractual relationship.

We require all third parties to respect the security of your Data and to treat it in accordance with the GDPR and other laws. As part of the recruitment process we will have to share your Data with a third party, but we only permit them to process your Data for specified purposes and in accordance with our instructions.

Please note that any contract of employment or work will be direct with the Client and any new processing of your personal data as collected, processed and used by the Client will be in accordance with their data and privacy practices.

In addition, we limit access to your Data to those employees, agents, contractors and other third parties who need-to-know for the purpose of our business. They will only process your Data on our instructions and they are subject to a duty of confidentiality.

We have put in place procedures to deal with any suspected Data security breach and will notify you and any applicable regulator of a suspected breach where we are legally required to do so.

Data Retention

We will only retain your Data as long is necessary for us to use your Data as set out in this Policy or to comply with our legal or regulatory obligations or requirements.

Some Data may need to be retained after we have found you a role or found you a Candidate if it is necessary to meet our legal obligations which may include information needed for tax and accounting purposes or for legal disputes and proceedings.

If we determine that we no longer need the Data, we will securely destroy it in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

"Fleet of foot and with an enviable industry contact book, Talented People have not only helped us make the best possible hires at short notice, but also helped plan for recruitment across the longer term. They're a production life saver!"

Creative Director, 7Wonder

"We gave Talented People a brief for a Series P/D role and they went straight to work and came back quickly with great options, which demonstrated that they understood the needs of the series and what the Commissioning Editor was looking for. It was a pleasure working with them both."

Head of Production, MiddleChild

"Kimberly and Rosie helped us find an SP for a tricky doc series. They did an incredibly thorough job in a very short space of time and were hugely helpful and communicative. I wouldn’t hesitate to use their services again."

Managing Director, Hello Halo

"Crewing up for observational series - and saved an inordinate amount of time by asking Talented People to get involved. Had a list of possibles the next day - all available and primed about the series, but they were also able to outline what each person would bring to the production. I took two of their suggestions, neither of whom I’d have found otherwise - and they’ve been brilliant. So fast, expert service from Talented People - very impressed - many thanks!!"
